  • "We are very pleased with the content, facilities and organization of the training. All went perfectly fine and knowledge-wise even exceeded our expectations. I had to skip the last day due to the meetings I had at work and didn’t manage to fill in the valuation form. If possible, I’d like you to pass our thanks to you and highest “mark” of our instructor Ferry! He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, fun and interactive! We all agreed on that.

  • Thanks!" -Yuri

  • "My experience in the bootcamp has been nothing short of amazing, as I truly loved the learning atmosphere and the professional setting. Initially, I was unsure about the program, but I was blown away by the interactive nature of the lessons. The bootcamp exceeded my expectations, and now I am actively seeking internships. Mr. Karel and Mr. Ferry ensured that we fully understood each concept before moving on. Mr. Ferry, who is an amazing teacher went above and beyond to explain the theory behind our work. Together, they established a great pace, covering programming fundamentals for absolute beginners, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, SQL, MySQL, APIs ultimately guiding us in creating a fully functional fullstack CRUD website with features like email, PDF generation, and validation. Their friendly, casual, and humble approach made it easy to ask questions. Overall, I found my journey with this bootcamp to be highly successful, and I hope to continue in this field." -Khaled

  • "Coming in, I anticipated a challenging and fast-paced learning environment, and I’m thrilled to say that my expectations have been met and exceeded. The content is well-organized, enabling me to develop valuable skills in a way that feels both engaging and manageable. Through consistent practice, I’ve found that what initially felt hard has become much easier to grasp. Ferry and Karel have played a pivotal role in this experience. Their teaching styles complement each other beautifully; they make challenging concepts accessible and encourage open dialogue, which fosters a collaborative learning atmosphere. I appreciate their responsiveness to our questions and the way they tailor lessons to our needs, ensuring we all stay on track. Overall, I feel empowered by the knowledge I’ve gained and excited for what’s to come.

  • Thank you for your dedication to our learning!" -Bilal

  • "Before the bootcamp, I had only a fragmented understanding of front-end and back-end coding, lacking a full-stack perspective. I entered with no expectations, but was pleasantly surprised by the in-depth content, especially in integrating different parts into a full stack—a new skill for me. The difficulty and pacing felt appropriate, comparable to self-learning. The teachers are friendly and explained concepts clearly. I particularly enjoyed the code-along sessions, as active learning is more effective for me. I would recommend this bootcamp for both beginners and intermediate learners." -Bootcamp participant 2024

  • "Ferry is an excellent addition to the Centre. He has settled well into his new teaching environment and is well respected by both staff and students. Ferry is always positive and helpful and I have no doubt that Computer Science will develop into a most popular subject under his guidance. Well done." -Leigh Smith, principal NFLS, Nanjing, China

Personal

Born in 1974 in the tiny city of Huissen, The Netherlands, my father introduced me to international draughts in 1985. Being a strong player himself (Vice Dutch youth champion in 1960 and 1963), I was hooked on the mind sport and played at a high level nationally and internationally before retiring from active sport in 2014. I'm an avid world traveler who loves to explore remote places, off the beaten track and meet new people from different cultures. I backpacked around Australia 5 times for months (1998-2006). Deciding to leave my home country of the Netherlands and move to China in 2017 [Ningbo and Nanjing] and Malaysia [KL] in 2021 was a life long dream as an adventurer. I think the world is a beautiful place worth exploring. Beauty can be found everywhere you look: in jazz clubs, local art galleries, Buddhist temples, remote islands, exploring ancient cities, searching for nemo or in a Hard Rock Cafe. That's where you'll find me. Or at home watching a great movie with my family. If not, I'm cycling, lifting weights, playing draughts online or indulging in the latest discoveries in astrophysics and astronomy.
